A Green Job: How Your Office Can Save the Environment

I am thrilled to be part of The Neat Fleet, a group of specialists who are passionate about using Neat products to reduce paper clutter and increase their productivity. After I did a video on Neat Desk last year around tax season, I was asked to be Neat's eco fleeter and I am featured on their site now in honor or Earth Month! This is a great opportunity for me to teach businesses and their employees how to make their offices more eco-friendly.

Join me for a live web cast this Thursday the 28th at 11am PST/2pm EDT called "The Waste-Free Office: How to Become a More Organized & Eco-Friendly". There are already close to 150 people signed up for this, so be sure to register for a space!

Win a Free Consultation on “Going Green” with Me! One person will receive a one-hour phone session and learn how to “green” their job or business, including customized, simple tips and inspiration on how to make the office more sustainable. This is a great opportunity to ask about specific eco-friendly products and additional resources that can help you go green!

A Solution To The Coconut Issues That Will Satisfy Eco-Vegans

Coconuts are all the rage. They are used in many raw foods, hot Thai dishes, and recently started appearing all over the vegan market in ice creams, yogurts, milk alternatives, and even as soy sauce substitute. And perhaps it's just an LA thing, but it seems like everyone is drinking out of a Young Thai coconut with a straw. But as much as I love the latter, they are a rare treat for several reasons:
  • Young Thai coconuts are not organic
  • they are wrapped in plastic
  • they come from Thailand (really far from LA)
  • and...supposedly many of them are dipped in formaldehyde!!!

VegNews, Portman, Go Daddy, Oliver...Is There Such Thing as a Perfect Vegan?

This month has been intense as far as vegan controversy goes:

That's a lot of negativity for a group of people who aim to be compassionate, and it makes me feel very sad. Instead of taking a step towards a kinder world, it feels like we're taking a step back because of anger and frustration.

How to Make Your Own Organic Vegan Lip Balm/Chapstick

One of my big eco-vegan missions is making my own everything, from meals to cleaning solutions to personal care products. Recently, it occured to me that I was wasting a lot of plastic containers every time I bought a new chapstick, and at $4-5 a pop it was getting expensive. So I decided to learn how to make it myself and discovered it was extremely easy, fast, and fun! Making it reduces packaging, saves money, and you get to control exactly what ingredients are used - talk about being eco-vegan! Here's how you can do it too (watch video or read written recipe):

Why & How to Leave Go Daddy (or Boycott them) & Find an Elephant-Friendly Domain/Website Host

If you've been watching the news and/or following social media trends, you've likely heard about the Go Daddy scandal. In summary, Bob Parsons, the CEO of the most popular domain name and website host company, killed an elephant in Africa and bragged about it on his blog. Animal activists are outraged, many people are alarmed, and lots of Go Daddy customers are closing their accounts - including myself.
